MCCC'S HEALTH SCIENCES DIVISION HOSTS INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR PROSPECTIVE RESPIRATORY THERAPY AND NURSING STUDENTS

Monroe County Community College’s Health Sciences Division will hold information sessions on its highly-rated nursing education and respiratory therapy programs during the next few weeks in preparation for the upcoming special application deadlines for these programs (June 2, 2025, for nursing and June 26, 2025, for respiratory therapy) for the Winter Semester 2026 cohorts. Monroe County Community College is seeking nominations for the 2025 MCCC Alumnus of the Year Award and College Supporter of the Year. The deadline for nominations for Alumnus of the Year Award is Thursday, March 20, 2025. The online nomination form can be found at www.monroeccc.edu/alumni/alumnus-of-the-year. MCCC TO HOST ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE SHOW APRIL 12 IN CONJUNCTION WITH MONROE COUNTY EARTH DAY EXPO

If you have been thinking about buying an electric or hybrid vehicle but are still hesitant, Monroe County Community College is hosting an event designed just for you, and it will take place in conjunction with the Monroe County Earth Day Expo 2025. The Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Show will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m.to noon in Parking Lot 2 in front of the Career Technology Center (Building T), and the Monroe County Earth Day Expo will be held right next door in the Welch Health Education Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Read Press Release

Monroe County Community College Division of Humanities and Social Sciences presents Ken Ludwig’s Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood April 4 - 6, 2025 in the college's Meyer Theater in La Z Boy Center on the college's main campus, 1555 S. ONE WEEK TO A CHALLENGING CAREER WITH MCCC'S FIBER OPTIC TRAINING BOOTCAMP

Monroe County Community College is offering a Fiber Optic Training Bootcamp to prepare participants for a career in fiber optics. The classes will be held Monday, March 31 - Friday, April 4, 2025 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the MCCC Whitman Center, 7777 Lewis Ave., in Temperance, MI. Monroe County Community College will host a brand new, free, non-credit Algebra Boot Camp March 10 - April 17, 2025 , to lessen anxiety about algebra in preparation for taking courses for students and parents who want to support their high school and college-age students tackling this intimidating subject. STUDENTS CAN STILL APPLY FOR $350,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS FROM MCCC FOR 2025-26 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has extended the deadline for current and future students to apply for over $350,000 of scholarship funding available for the 2025-26 academic year to March 31, 2025. The online scholarship application can be found at www.monroeccc.edu/scholarships. Statement from President Dr. Kojo A. Quartey on the Passing of Founding MCCC President Dr. Ronald Campbell

Statement from Monroe County Community College President Dr. Kojo A. Quartey on the Passing of Founding MCCC President Dr. Ronald Campbell We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing yesterday, February 2, 2025, of Monroe County Community College’s founding president, Dr. Ronald Campbell, after a brief hospitalization. Dr. Campbell was just shy of reaching his 100th birthday. Dr. Campbell was a World War II veteran and earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, master’s degree from the University of Detroit and doctorate from Wayne State University. He began his career in higher education at Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) in Dearborn as a biology instructor and eventually became vice president of instruction. Read Press Release

MCCC ANNOUNCES 100 PERCENT LICENSURE EXAM PASSAGE RATE FOR PRACTICAL NURSING, NEARLY 95 PERCENT FOR REGISTERED NURSING

Monroe County Community College Director of Nursing Christy Chisholm has announced that 100 percent of students in its Practical Nursing program who completed the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) in the last 3 years -- 27 students -- passed the exam. Read Press Release
