Mccc visiting artist series to feature betzi lievens

Monroe County Community College will host a lecture, demonstration and month-long public display by Betzi Lievens as part of its Visiting Artist Series. With a solid foundation in fine arts, Lievens honed her skills at MCCC and further developed her craft at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Known for her vibrant use of color and mastery of acrylic and oil on wood and canvas, she has become a prominent figure in the Detroit art scene since her debut in 2002. Read Press Release

MCCC Partners with Mason, Ida and Jefferson Schools to eliminate Admissions application step for seniors

Monroe County Community College has partnered with three additional Monroe County school systems -- Mason Consolidated Schools, Ida Public Schools and Jefferson Schools -- in its Husky Quick Start Program that eliminates the need for seniors at those schools to complete an application for admission to enroll at MCCC. MCCC BREAKS GROUND ON NEW WELCH CENTER FOR HEALTH AND PUBLIC SAFETY

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College broke ground today on a $22-25 million transformation of the college’s Welch Health Education Building into what is tentatively being called the Welch Center for Health and Public Safety to reflect the growing scope of the facility as a result of the planned renovation and expansion. STATE APPROVES EMT PROGRAM TO RUN AT WHITMAN CENTER; Fournier Hired as Center's Coordinator

Monroe County Community College has received state approval to offer a new Emergency Medical Technician certificate program at its Whitman Center location in Temperance, one of a several new developments at the facility, which, after a number of years of limited use, will be bustling with activity this academic year.
