MCCC TO HOST ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE SHOW APRIL 12 IN CONJUNCTION WITH MONROE COUNTY EARTH DAY EXPO

Show Designed for People with Questions About Buying an EV or Hybrid; Exhibition Space Available

If you have been thinking about buying an electric or hybrid vehicle but are still hesitant, Monroe County Community College is hosting an event designed just for you, and it will take place in conjunction with the Monroe County Earth Day Expo 2025.

The Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Show will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m.to noon in Parking Lot 2 in front of the Career Technology Center (Building T), and the Monroe County Earth Day Expo will be held right next door in the Welch Health Education Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Both facilities are right off the main entrance to MCCC, which is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.

Both events are free and open to the public.

The Electric and Hybrid Vehicle show is designed to provide information for people who have questions about buying an EV or a hybrid. It will feature the newest models of these vehicles, and attendees will be able to drive some of them and learn from the owners about their experiences buying and owning them.

Visitors will also be able to check out charging equipment currently on the market and learn about the current and emerging EV charging infrastructure, as well as meet with automotive dealership and manufacturing representatives, network providers, DTE Energy officials, charging company representatives, MCCC faculty and staff, and government officials to learn about the present and future of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Prospective students will be able to get a first-hand look at MCCC's Automotive Service Technology program, which is structured to provide the technical knowledge and mechanical abilities necessary to work on the vehicles of yesterday, today and the future.

Exhibition space is available. If you would like to display your EV or host an exhibition space or table, please go to monroecc.edu/EV and fill out a Participant Registration Form.

The Monroe County Earth Day Expo will celebrate our planet and all things healthy and green. This family-friendly event will have something for everyone with live music, food trucks and engaging exhibitors who will promote sustainability, personal health and living green.

Educational exhibits will showcase how to make a positive impact on the environment. Among the exhibits will be the Michigan Green Schools Program and the Climate Literacy Project. Visitors can discover how environmental education is being incorporated into our schools and learn about the initiatives that are making a difference in our communities.
