The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the MCCC Alumni Family Member Scholarship to Lexi DeBruyne. The $2,500 Winter 2025 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, fees and essential supplies.
DeBruyne, of Peterburg, is a 2023 graduate of Whiteford Agricultural High School. She is enrolled in general studies courses at MCCC, where she is involved in the Global Studies Program. After graduation in May, Lexi plans to pursue further studies at a four-year university in preparation for a career in finance. Lexi is the daughter of Tonia DeBruyne and John DeBruyne.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident, a U.S. citizen, a Monroe County high school graduate, and an immediate relative (child or spouse) of an MCCC graduate or student who earned 24 or more credits at MCCC. Additionally, a student must maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more. Special consideration will be given to a relative of an MCCC Alumni Association member in good standing.
Current and future students and their parents are reminded that there is still time to submit an online, one-time application for consideration for a 2025-2026 scholarship at www.monroeccc.edu/scholarships. The deadline to apply for more than $325,000 in scholarships is March 1, 2025.
