THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE HECTOR AND PAULINE (ELSIE) LeBRUN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Hector and Pauline (Elsie) LeBrun Family Scholarship to McKenna Jakunskas. The $1,100 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.

Jakunskas, of Grosse Ile, is a 2018 graduate of Grosse Ile High School and earned her Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2022. After deciding to make a career change, McKenna is nearly finished with her studies in the Respiratory Therapy program at MCCC. She has volunteered at several area hospitals, participated in community food drives and coached a local 15U softball team. McKenna is the daughter of Lisa and Dave Jakunskas.

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be have at least a 2.5 grade point average and demonstrate financial need.
