The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Education Plus Credit Union Scholarship to Nicole Schlegel. The $1,200 Winter 2025 semester scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Schlegel, of Temperance, is a 2008 graduate of Oscar a. Carlson High School in Gibraltar, MI She plans to earn a pre-education associate of science degree at MCCC, where she served as a Writing Fellow, assisting other students with writing assignments. Nicole is the mother of four children, Anthony, Brooklynn, Christopher II and James and is the wife of Christopher.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the recipient must be a member of the Directions Credit Union, must maintain part-time enrollment status, defined as six credit hours or more, and may be either a first- or second-year student.
Current and future students and their parents are reminded that there is still time to submit an online, one-time application for consideration for a 2025-2026 scholarship at www.monroeccc.edu/scholarships. The deadline to apply for more than $325,000 in scholarships is March 1, 2025.
