- After a little more than three years of operation and growth in the number of students and their families who access Heck's Market Food Pantry, Monroe County Community College along with the leadership of The Board of Directors of The Foundation at MCCC and generosity of its donors have relocated the market to a larger, more accessible area of the campus in Founders Hall.
- In addition, a new online ordering system has been implemented for easier ordering and processing of the many food products provided in partnership with the Monroe County Opportunity Program (MCOP) and other personal and home care products provided by donors and area retailers at discount.
- Shortly after the opening of the food pantry in 2021, several family members of one of Monroe’s large and established families were so impressed with the impact of the program that they made a substantial gift to name the pantry “Heck’s Market” in honor of their grandparents who ran a market by the same name in downtown Monroe for decades.
