The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the William J. and Jennie E. Bacarella Scholarship to Daniel Spain. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Spain, of Monroe, earned his GED in 2020 in Arizona. He is studying business management while attending MCCC. Daniel is one of the founding members of the Care Closet, is the Campus Liaison for Student Government, is a member of the Gender Sexuality Alliance and Multicultural Student Association at MCCC. He is the son of the late Paulette Blutcher and Kevin Spain.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be majoring in a business-related curriculum, maintain part-time enrollment status of six credit hours or more, and be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan. In addition, the donor prefers non-traditional students and graduates of St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
