The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Terri McConnaughey Scholarship to Alaina Mullins. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Mullins, of Woodhaven, is a 2022 graduate of Woodhaven High School. She is taking pre-social sciences transfer courses while attending MCCC. Alaina was the vice president of MCCC Student Government this year and will serve as the President of SG for the 2024-25 year. In addition, she received the Dr. Ronald Campbell Student Government Award, was on the Dean’s list, is a Writing Fellow and was nominated for outstanding student of the year award. Alaina is the daughter of Rhonda Mullins and Brian Mullins
. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must either serve as a MCCC Writing Fellow or be a staff member on the college’s student newspaper, The Agora, and be working part-time during their scholarship year, as defined by 15 hours per week. Preference will be given to a non-traditional age female student. Additionally, a student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher, and maintain part-time enrollment status of at least six credit hours per semester.
