The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Business and Computer Information Systems Endowed Memorial Scholarship to Will Bushroe and Natalie Synowiec. Each $1,950 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Bushroe, of La Salle, is a 2022 graduate of Erie Mason High School. He is studying cybersecurity and information assurance at MCCC. Will is the son of Julie and Greg Bushroe.
Synowiec, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Monroe High School. She is studying business at MCCC. Natalie is involved in the community working at a scuba diving shop teaching people how to scuba dive and how to protect our local environment. She is the daughter of Rich and Jill Synowiec.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in either a business or computer information systems program, have completed 24 credit hours or more and have a grade point average of 2.8 or above. The applicant must be a resident of Monroe County, MI, and a U.S. citizen. Also, the student must maintain full-time student status during the scholarship year, which is defined as 12 credit hours.
