The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Richard H. Hicks and Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarships to Hesse Sambaan. The $1,725 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Sambaan, of Temperance, is a 2012 graduate of Ida High School. She is studying nursing at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association and Veteran Club. Hesse is the spouse to Rad Flores.
