The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Gwendolyn M. Jacob Memorial Scholarship to Katie Kowicki. The $2,850 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Kowicki, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Monroe High School. She is studying psychology at MCCC with plans to transfer to the University of Michigan-Dearborn to pursue a bachelor’s degree and become a therapist in a juvenile center. Katie is the daughter of Matthew Kowicki and Linda Kowicki.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have graduated from Monroe High School, be enrolled in a transfer curriculum at MCCC, have a grade point average of 2.5 or above and maintain a full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours.
