The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Ethel K. (Russeau) Fountain Endowed Scholarship to Brennan Dykes. The $2,550 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Dykes, of Monroe, is a 2021 graduate of Monroe High School. He is studying welding technologies at MCCC. He volunteers as a youth leader for his church. He is the son of Chad and Tina Dykes.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing a degree or certificate in any Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division program (i.e. Automotive Service, Industrial Management, Product and Process, Welding, etc.), be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, and a United States citizen, and demonstrate financial need with preference given to a non-traditional student.
Applications for scholarships awarded by The Foundation for the 2024 – 25 academic year are now being accepted. The online scholarship application is available at www.monroeccc.edu/scholarships. Returning and prospective students are encouraged to apply now for over 200 available scholarships for the upcoming academic year. Students have until March 1, 2024, to complete their scholarship application; however, it is recommended that students apply as soon as possible. Not all scholarships are need-based or require a high grade point average or full-time status. Many are program specific and are available in all traditional and technical career training programs.
