The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the President Emeritus Dr. Ronald Campbell and Blondelle Campbell Scholarship to Skylar Gerweck-Myers. The $1,600 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Gerweck-Myers, of Monroe, is a 2024 graduate of Airport High School. She is taking pre-requisite courses to study either music or education while attending MCCC. While attending AHS, Skylar was involved in the Upward Bound program, Varsity Voices, Choir Council as librarian and vice president and varsity soccer. She also is a volunteer at 2/42 Monroe Church as a worship leader and assistant teacher. Skylar is the daughter of Sean Myers and Megan Gerweck.
To be eligible the student must be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, demonstrate academic excellence, and maintain at least a part-time enrollment at MCCC. Preference will be given to a student who is an active member of the MCCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and demonstrates financial need.
