MONROE, Mich. -- Monroe County Community College's Destination Dance School will hold its annual Holiday Dance Showcase on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.
The La-Z-Boy Center is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
Pianist Mary Amanda Kuschel will perform beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the dance showcase at 6:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public with a donation at the door. Seating is general admission.
It will feature MCCC’s Destination Tap Collective, Inside Out Dance Ensemble and Destination Dance students. The director and choreographer is Destination Dance School Director Kellie Lajiness, a former Michigan Dance Teacher of the Year; award-winning, critically acclaimed choreographer and performer, and a professional ballroom competitor.
MCCC’s Destination Dance School is a noncredit opportunity for MCCC students and community members to participate in quality and life-enriching instruction in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, theater and ballroom dance. The program features highly creative and structured lessons, a supportive environment for all age groups and ability levels, appropriate and thoughtful music selections, a monthly calendar with updates and age-appropriate dress code and policies.
