MCCC WINS 1 GOLD, TWO SILVER MEDALLION AWARDS FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS EXCELLENCE

MONROE, Mich. – On Sept. 27 at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 3 Conference in Seattle, Monroe County Community College's Office of Marketing and Communications won one Gold and two Silver Awards for outstanding achievement in community college marketing communications.

The college took Gold for "Photo – Manipulated" for a photo used in the president's printed holiday card and an electronic holiday card sent from the Office of Enrollment Management to area high school counselors.

MCCC won Silver for "E-cards" for the electronic holiday card to counselors, as well as for "Successful Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Marketing" for its promotional campaign for an ally training program by a student. That student, former Miss Monroe County Reese Johnson, has since graduated and is now enrolled at the University of Michigan.

MCCC's Office of Marketing Communications team includes Joe Verkennes, director of marketing and communications; Doug Richter, graphic designer; Michelle Gaynier, communications specialist, Janel Boss, assistant to the director of marketing and communications and the executive director of The Foundation at MCCC, and Erika Hunt, digital media coordinator.
