The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship to Lisa O’Brien and Evie Larrow. Each $1,800 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
O’Brien, of Dundee, is a 1985 graduate of Dundee High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association, Phi Theta Kappa, serves as a Writing Fellow and received the Student of the Year award. Lisa is the mother of Amanda and Megan and the daughter of James and Patricia Rowe.
Larrow, of Erie, is a 2020 graduate of Mason Consolidated Schools. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association and Phi Theta Kappa. She is the daughter of Jenn and Corey Larrow.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second-year student in the Registered Nurse Program, a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Students must maintain a three-quarter-time enrollment which is defined as nine (9) credit hours.
