The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Ruthie Merritt Memorial Scholarship to Jennifer Smith. The $1,350 scholarship is to be used for tuition.
Smith, of Monroe, is a 1994 graduate of Monroe High School. She is pursuing a degree in accounting and cyber security. She is very active at Bible Fellowship Church. Jennifer is the daughter of Jerry and Ginger Mason and John and Cindy Riley.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the computer information systems or accounting program at MCCC, a resident of Monroe County, Mich., completed a minimum of 10 credit hours with a 2.5 grade point average and take a minimum of four credit hours.
