The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the John “Corky” Hancock scholarship to James Brown. The $2,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Brown, of Blissfield, is a 2021 graduate of Blissfield High School. He is studying automotive service technology at MCCC. In addition to being employed full-time and assisting with the care of his now deceased grandmother, James has volunteered with voter registration efforts locally. He is the son of Jered Brown and Casandra Brown.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree from any skilled trades program in the Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.
