The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the JoAnn Naida LPN to RN Nursing Scholarship to Christina Goellnitz and Jacob Hugo. Each $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Goellnitz, of Dundee, is a 2012 graduate of Southview Northview High School, Sylvania, OH. She is studying nursing at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. After earning a bachelor’s degree and teaching middle school, Christina decided to pursue a career in nursing. She is dual-enrolled in nursing at Eastern Michigan University. Christina is the wife of Michael Wright.
Hugo, of Temperance, is a 2019 graduate of Bedford High School. He is studying nursing at MCCC. Jacob was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, played football at BHS and volunteers with the Toledo Humane Society.. Jacob is the son of Amanda and John Hugo.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second-year nursing student enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program, a Monroe County, MI, resident and have a 3.3 grade point average or higher.
