The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Guire Scholarship to Daniel Spain. The $2,650 scholarship is to be used for tuition.
Spain, of Monroe. He earned his GED in 2020 in Arizona. He will be pursuing a and associate of science degree while attending MCCC. Daniel is a member of the Care Closet, the Psychology Interest Group and the Gender Sexuality Alliance at MCCC. In addition, he has volunteered at Philadelphia House and as a math tutor at the Learning Bank. Daniel is the son of the late Paulette Jackson and Kevin Spain.
The Guire scholarship was established by the Iva Mennig Trust to assist with tuition payment for students majoring in math or science who have financial need and have shown academic excellence.
