The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the George Rhodes Scholarship to Justin Schley. The $250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.
Schley, of Newport, is a 2012 homeschool graduate. He is pursuing an associate of science degree in pre-engineering while at MCCC, with plans to transfer to the University of Michigan to study artificial intelligence. He is a member of MCCC's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and tutors students in math and computer science. Justin is the son of Julie Schley, Kendall Schley and father to Dimitri Schley.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain part-time enrollment (enrolled in six credit hours) during the scholarship year and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. The student must have worked at least one semester in a tutoring program recognized by the Student Success Center or an academic division at MCCC and remain active in the tutoring program during the scholarship year.
