THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE ETHEL K. (RUSSEAU) FOUNTAIN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Ethel K. (Russeau) Fountain Endowed Scholarship to Jake Bradley, Denny Davidson, Miranda Dickerson, Timothy Hall, Kayla Harmon, Dustin Holycross, Andrew LaBeau, Marc Lemle, Travis Lindquist, Brendan Marcangelo-Skipper and Zachary Miller. Each $2,550 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Bradley photo Bradley, of Carleton, is a 2023 graduate of Airport High School. He will be pursing an associate of science degree in the pre-engineering pathway with the goal of becoming a computer hardware engineer. He is the son of Dean Bradley and Valerie Bradley.

  

 

Davidson photoDavidson, Newport, is a 2023 graduate of Jefferson High School. He plans to study environmental engineering while at MCCC, with plans to pursue a bachelor’s, or higher, degree at a four-year university after his studies at MCCC. He is the son of Cindy Davidson and Mark Davidson..

 

  
 

  

Dickerson, of Petersburg, is a 2023 graduate of the Monroe County Middle College. She plans to earn a welding certificate from MCCC. During her time at MCMC she earned over 200 volunteer and community service hours and has worked as a student assistant at MCCC in the groundskeeping and maintenance area. She is the daughter of Carrie and Tyler Dickerson.

Hall photoHall, of Lambertville, is a 2021 graduate of Bedford High School, where he graduated with honors. He is pursuing a degree in welding while at MCCC and has been named to the Dean’s list. He is the son of Anthony Hall and Cherise Hall.

 

 

   

 

Harmon photoHarmon, of Monroe, is a 2023 graduate of Monroe High School. She is planning to study environmental engineering at MCCC and transfer to the University of Toledo to complete a bachelor’s degree. While at MHS, Kayla was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the marching band and a pep band for basketball. She is the daughter of Scott Klug and Holly Klug.

  

Holycross, of Ida, is a 2023 graduate of Ida High School. He is planning to study construction management or engineering and transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree. While at IHS, Dustin was dual-enrolled at MCCC and played varsity soccer for four years, was named captain and first team all-league as a senior and volunteered for activities with Lambertville United Methodist Church Youth Group and the Ida Band Boosters organization. He is the son of Vicki Holycross and Brian Holycross.

 LaBeau photoLaBeau, of Newport, is a 2023 graduate of Jefferson High School. He will be studying Nuclear Engineering Technology  at MCCC. While attending JHS, Andrew was a member of the football team, including receiving the most improved player award as a senior; was active in National Honor Society and is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He is the son of Kevin LaBeau and Susan LaBeau.

 

  

Lemle photoLemle, of Monroe, is a 1997 graduate of Mason High School. He is studying automotive engineering technology at MCCC and use his knowledge for a degree from MCCC to further his 23-year career in automotive. He is the father of Relic V. Lawson and Nathen Rhoades, partner of Christy D. Rhoades and son of Walther H. Lemle and Debbie S. Lemle.

 

 

Linquist photoLindquist, of Temperance, is a 2013 graduate of Ida High School. He is pursuing studies in welding technology, with plans to transfer his credits to Ferris State University where he is enrolled in the welding engineering program. In addition to working full-time, Travis is a volunteer with the Dundee Senior Citizen Center and United Way of Monroe and Lenawee Counties. He is the son of David Lindquist and Terry Lindquist.

 

  

Brendan M photoMarcangelo-Skipper, of Ida, is a 2023 graduate of Great Lakes Learning Academy. He is pursuing a certificate in welding at MCCC. He has been a counselor-in-training at the Judson Collins Camp and volunteers in community projects with his church and helping the homeless. Brendan is the son of Veronica Marcangelo and Paul Skipper.

  

Miller photoMiller, of Newport, is a 2021 graduate of Monroe High School. He is working toward an associate degree in electrical engineering technology while attending MCCC, where he has been named to the Dean’s List. Zachary volunteers at the Mable Kehres Senior Apartment, teaching residents about technology and more, and is active with the National Down Syndrome Society, Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network. He is the son of Rhonda Miller and Robert Miller.

  

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing a degree or certificate in any Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division program (i.e. Automotive Service, Industrial Management, Product and Process, Welding, etc.), be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, and a United States citizen, and demonstrate financial need with preference given to a non-traditional student.
