THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE EDWARD AND HENRIETTA KNABUSCH TRUST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Edward and Henrietta Knabusch Trust Memorial Scholarship to Rachel Miska and Ashley Shawler. Each $2,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, academic supplies and books.

 Miska photoMiska, of Newport, is a 2023 Monroe County Middle College graduate. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. She is the vice president of both the Student Nurses Association and Phi Theta Kappa honor society and is a volunteer with the Luke Clinic for mothers and families. Rachel is the daughter of Stephen and Rhonda Miska.

 

  

 Shawler, of Newport, is a 2006 graduate of Abecka Academy. She is studying early childhood development while attending MCCC. She volunteers providing meals for a Monroe County facility that serves the needy and is a member of the Advisory Committee Board for the Early Childhood Education Program at MCCC. Ashley is the mother of Hudson and the wife of Benjamin Shawler.

  \To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be have at least a 2.5 grade point average, demonstrate involvement in community service and must maintain at least part-time enrollment at MCCC. Preference is given to a Monroe County, Michigan resident.
