The Foundation Monroe County Community College has awarded the D.A.V. Chapter 137 Scholarship to Madison Salliotte and Evan Bartley. Each $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Bartley, of Monroe, is a 2020 homeschool graduate. He is pursuing an associate’s degree in applied science at MCCC, with plans to transfer his credits and pursue a bachelor’s degree in sports management at a four-year university. Evan has volunteered with the Salvation Army, Monroe Community Opportunity Program, 4H and Knights of Columbus. He is also a member of the MCCC Intramural Sports Club. He is the son of Leon and Jennifer Bartley.
Salliotte, of Monroe, is a 2022 graduate of Riverview High School, Riverview, MI. She is planning to pursue a degree in nursing from MCCC. While attending RHS, she was in the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America group and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. She is the daughter of Dawn and James Salliotte.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, MI, and a United States citizen, must be a veteran or the child of a veteran, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge and submit a copy of their DD-214, have a 2.5 grade point average or higher. Financial need may be considered in awarding the scholarship.
