The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the David L. and Harriet Williams McIntyre Memorial Scholarship to Gabrielle Stewart. The $3,300 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Stewart, of Monroe, is a dual-enrolled student at Monroe High School graduate and will graduate in 2024. She is pursuing an associate degree on the social work pathway with plans to attend Eastern Michigan University to complete her bachelor’s degree. She has volunteered with Erie United Methodist Church and Zion United Methodist Church serving dinners and potlucks and with the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Ann Arbor. While studying at MHS, Gabrielle has received numerous leadership awards for her efforts. She is the daughter of Corry Diane Gessner and Ian Andrew Stewart
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe High School graduate, enrolled in a transfer curriculum and maintain a full-time enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours. To continue to receive this scholarship, the recipient must demonstrate continuing academic achievement of at least a 2.5 grade point average.
