The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Captain Joseph M. Liedel Memorial Scholarship to Emma Cousino. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.
Cousino, of Newport, is a 2021 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is studying respiratory therapy at MCCC. While at JHS, she was a vice president of the class of 2021, member of the National Honor Society and volunteered at the Special Olympics. Emma is the daughter of Anthony Cousino and Samantha Cousino.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident and a current or former Monroe County firefighter or the sibling, child or grandchild of a firefighter.
