The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Former Bedford Rotarians and Friends Scholarship to Payton Binder. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Binder, of Ottawa Lake, is a 2023 graduate of Bedford Senior High School. He is studying nursing at MCCC. Payton volunteers with the BHS football program. Hhe is the son of Katheryn and Jim.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a graduate of Bedford High School, first year student at MCCC, maintain fulltime enrollment while at MCCC, have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, present financial need, past or present community or public service and must perform 20 hours of community or public service during the scholarship year.
