The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Chad E. Nyitray Scholarship to Evan Schmitz. The $1,550 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Schmitz, of Ida, is a 2023 graduate of Ida High School. He is studying business management at MCCC with plans to transfer to the University of Toledo to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business. While a student at IHS, Evan was active in the Ida Soccer Club. He is the son of Carol Schmitz and Kevin Schmitz.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have at least a 3.0 grade point average, be enrolled full-time in a business-related curriculum and plan to transfer to a college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business. Additionally, a student must be a Monroe County or Washtenaw County resident.
