The Monroe County Community College Alumni Association will host its 28th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing Friday, September 8, 2022, at Carrington Golf Club, 911 St. James Park Ave, Monroe. The MCCCAA leadership is currently seeking sponsors, as well as players, for this important fundraising event. Proceeds from the golf outing support the association’s scholarships each year, including the multiple $2,500 MCCC Alumni Family Member Scholarships and $1,000 MCCC Alumni Scholarships.
While some sponsorship packages have already been committed, several packages are still available. The sponsorships that include a play package for a team of four include: VIP Event Sponsorship for $1,000, which includes sponsor name or logo on a banner, tee and table signage, recognition in promotional and informational materials including the event program and awards, and play package for a team of four; VIP Hole Sponsorship for $500 that includes signage at the tee, recognition in the event program and play package for a team of four.
Other sponsorships available include Table Sponsorships, with table signage, for $50; Hole Sponsorships, with tee signage and recognition in the event program, for $200; and three remaining Specialty Hole Sponsorships for $300 that include specialty hole (Closest to Pin or Longest Drive) and recognition in the event program and during the awards.
Foursomes for the event are $400 and include greens fees, golf cart, lunch and qualify golfers for a variety of prizes that will be announced during the awards presentation. Of the $400 fee, $100 is a tax-deductible gift to the Foundation at MCCC. Individuals are welcome to register and participate as well as foursomes for $100.
Non-golfers (and golfers, alike) can support the MCCC Alumni Association's scholarship efforts by purchasing $10 Golf Ball Drop Tickets. Only 300 tickets (and chances to win) are available for the drop. Of the 300 numbered balls that will be dropped, the three in or closest to the hole will garner the winners $500 for first in/closest, $300 for second in/closest and $200 for third in/closest. Golf Ball Drop Ticket purchasers and supporters do not need to be present to win.
As a result of the golf outing, the Alumni Association Scholarship has been awarded to over 100 students since 1996. With the addition of the Alumni Family Scholarship ten years later in 2006, another 30 students have received scholarships.
