The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Upward Bound Scholarship to Isabella Bomia. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Bomia, of Monroe, is a 2022 Jefferson High School graduate. She is pursuing a nursing degree while attending MCCC. She has participated in Upward Bound for all four years of high school and was involved in the Jefferson Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. She has volunteered at JHS, in the concession stand and at her parish, St. Charles Borromeo serving dinners and setting up the hall. Isabella is the daughter of Rebecca Bomia.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a first-generation college student or meet income eligibility guidelines.
