The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Terri McConnaughey Scholarship to Ashtyn Ansel. The $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Ansel, of Monroe, is a 2022 homeschool graduate of Ansel Academic Academy. She is pursuing an associate of science degree while attending MCCC. She is a senior Writing Fellow and volunteers at Oaks of Righteousness. Ashtyn is the daughter of Sarah and Brandon Ansel.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must either serve as a MCCC Writing Fellow or be a staff member on the college’s student newspaper, The Agora, and be working part-time during their scholarship year, as defined by 15 hours per week. Preference will be given to a non-traditional age female student. Additionally, a student must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher, and maintain part-time enrollment status of at least six credit hours per semester.
