The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Business and Computer Information Systems Endowed Memorial Scholarship to Mathew Kleman and James Watterson. Each $1,875 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Kleman photoKleman, of Temperance, is a 2013 graduate of University of Toledo GED program. He is studying cybersecurity and information assurance at MCCC. Mathew is the son of Thomas and Denine Kleman.

  

 

 

Waterson photoWatterson, of Monroe, is a 2017 graduate of Monroe High School. He is studying business management at MCCC. He is a football and baseball coach at Monroe High School. James is the son of Mary Watterson and the late Jim Watterson.

 


To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in either a business or computer information systems program, have completed 24 credit hours or more and have a grade point average of 2.8 or above. The applicant must be a resident of Monroe County, MI, and a U.S. citizen. Also, the student must maintain full-time student status during the scholarship year, which is defined as 12 credit hours.
