The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the PFC Dennis J. Miller Jr. Memorial Scholarship to Jewell Mason. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition and fees.
Mason, of Monroe, is a 2021 homeschooled graduate. She is studying general education at MCCC and is a member of Student Government and Writing Fellows. Mason is a member of 4-H Monroe County Community Club, 4-H Monroe County Small Animal Association and a youth representative for Monroe County 4-H Council. Jewell is the daughter of Scott and Kelley Mason.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be majoring in history and/or planning to teach history and co-op/intern at any organization or institution in Monroe County that provides history education or historic preservation. Additionally, a student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and a three-quarter time enrollment status of nine credit hours or more.
