The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Jarrait Farm Bureau Insurance Agency Agriculture Scholarship to John Becker, Samuel Costello, Nicole Daniel and Vivian Hinde. Each scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.
Becker, of Riga, is a 2022 graduate of Blissfield High School. He is studying agricultural operations while at MCCC. While attending BHS he was a member of the National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America and Monroe County 4-H – Royal Clovers Club. John is the son of Jeff and Stacie Becker.
Costello, of Monroe, is a 2019 graduate of Ida High School. He is studying agricultural operations while at MCCC. Sam is the son of Zac and Jammie Costello.
Daniel, of Monroe, is a 2022 graduate of Monroe High School. She is studying agriculture operations at MCCC. While attending MHS she was an active member in the National Honor Society. Nicole is the daughter of Jason and Karen Daniel.
Hinde, of Temperance, is a 2022 homeschool graduate. She is studying agribusiness while at MCCC. She has been a proud active member of 4-H for the past twelve years and is on the Junior Livestock Association Board where she served as secretary and currently holds the position of vice president. Vivian is the daughter of Aaron and Elizabeth Hinde.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be enrolled in the agriculture program at MCCC, be at least a part-time student, be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, and must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
