The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Ethel K. (Russeau) Fountain Endowed Scholarship to Trinity Adams, Brandon Daniels, Brennan Dykes, Griffin Harmer, Wyatt Larrow, Marc Lemle, Connor Martin, Zachary Miller, Jacqueline Pacheco, Tyler Philp, Madison Sampson, Nathan Whiteside, Ashley Thompson and Bradford Zapor. Each $2,500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Adams, of Ida, is a 2019 graduate of Orchard Center High School. He will be pursing a degree in construction management technology at MCCC. He is a member of Ida Methodist Church, and is a volunteer for Adopt-A-Road, Monroe County 4-H, Klover Kids Club and the Monroe County Fair. He is the son of Heidi Adams.
Daniels, of Newport, is a 2017 graduate of Airport High School. He will be pursing a degree in mechanical engineering at MCCC. He was is involved in Upward Bound, his local church and participated in varsity football while at AHS. Brandon is the son of Emmit Daniels and Emily Cser.
Dykes, of Monroe, is 2021 Monroe High School graduate. He will be pursing a degree in welding engineering at MCCC and is a MCCC student note taker. Brennan is the son of Chad and Tina Dykes.
Harmer, of Petersburg, is a 2022 graduate of Ida High School. He will be pursing a welding certification from MCCC. While attending IHS, he was a member of Student Council. Griffin is the son of David and Teresa Harmer.
Larrow, of Erie, is a 2003 graduate of Mason Consolidated School. He will be pursuing a welding certificate at MCCC. He has been a member of Young Life and has volunteered at the Monroe Coiunty Intermediate School District. Wyatt is the son of Shane and Carrie Larrow.
Lemle, of Monroe, is a 1997 graduate of Mason Consolidated School. He will be pursuing a degree in automotive engineering at MCCC. He has been involved in the recovery community and volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity Home Store. Marc is the son of Walter and Debbie Lemle, partner of Christy Rhoades and father to Relic Lawson and Nathen Rhoades.
Martin, of Monroe, is a 2020 graduate of Monroe High School. He will be pursing a degree in electrical engineering technology at MCCC. He recently interned with Collier Associates Inc. in Calvert City, KY. Connor is the son of Erik and Danielle Venzke.
Miller, of Newport, is 2021 graduate of Monroe High School. He is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering and technologies at MCCC. He has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, National Down Syndrome Society, Special Olympics, Salvation Army, as a math tutor and sewn masks for local hospitals. Zachary is the son of Robert and Rhonda Miller.
Pacheco, of Carleton, is a 2004 graduate of Jefferson High School. She will be pursuing a degree in construction management while at MCCC. Jacqueline is the mother to Maggie and Lexie.
Philp, of Carleton, is a 2010 graduate of Airport High School. He is studying electrical engineering at MCCC. Tyler is the husband of Jenny Philp.
Sampson, of Carleton, is a 2019 graduate of Airport High School. She will be pursuing a degree in construction management technology at MCCC. She is involved with Project Dash-E at Woodland Church. Madison is the daughter of Ed and Ronda Sampson.
Whiteside, of Monroe, is a 2018 homeschooled graduate. He will be pursuing a degree in manufacturing technology and mechanical design technology at MCCC. Nathan is the son of Ernie and Delia Whiteside.
Thompson, of Monroe, is a 2009 graduate of Monroe High School. She will be studying at MCCC to pursue a degree in professional land surveying. Ashley is the daughter of Tammy Thompson.
Zapor, of Monroe, is a 2000 graduate of Jefferson High School. He is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering at MCCC. Bradford is the son of Mary Zapor.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be pursuing a degree or certificate in any Applied Science and Engineering Technology Division program (i.e. Automotive Service, Industrial Management, Product and Process, Welding, etc.), be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, and a United States citizen, and demonstrate financial need with preference given to a non-traditional student.
