Emily LemarrThe Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the David L. and Harriet Williams McIntyre Memorial Scholarship to Emily LeMarr. The $3,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.

LeMarr, of Monroe, is a 2021 Monroe High School graduate. She is pursuing an education degree while attending MCCC. She plans to teach students life lessons while following the curriculum. LeMarr was senior scholar and graduated Sum laude. While at MHS, she was a member of Positive Peer Influence and Student Prevention Leadership Team. At MCCC, LeMarr is writing fellow and formerly a student note taker. In the Fall she will be joining The Agora, MCCC’s student newspaper. Emily is the wife of Caleb S. LeMarr and the daughter of Elizabeth A. Folger and Daniel Folger.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe High School graduate, enrolled in a transfer curriculum and maintain a full-time enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours. To continue to receive this scholarship, the recipient must demonstrate continuing academic achievement of at least a 2.5 grade point average.
