Foshag PhotoThe Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the C. Ernest Read Scholarship to Ella Foshag. The $1,300 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.

This scholarship was established by the estate of C. Ernest Read, one of the founders of MCCC. Read was actively involved in the early stages of planning the MCCC campus and served on the committee that created the initial guidelines for its development.

Foshag, of Monroe, is a 2021 graduate of Monroe High School. She is undecided on her major but taking all transferable classes at MCCC. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, student note taker, writing fellow, and a tutor in the Student Success Center. Ella is the daughter of Robert and Lori Foshag.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above, have earned 24 credit hours and be active in a recognized college organization.
