The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the AAUW Wyandotte Downriver Foundation Scholarship to Jordan Kowaleski and Patricia Schleicher. Each $1,250 scholarships are to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Kowaleski, of Southgate, is a 2019 Trenton High School graduate. Jordan is pursuing a degree in nursing while attending MCCC. She currently works at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte and is involved with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She is the wife of Jonathan Kowaleski.
Schleicher, of Trenton, is a 1989 L'Anse Creuse High School, Macomb MI, graduate. She is pursuing a degree in graphic design and art while attending MCCC. Patricia has volunteered doing arts and crafts with an elderly lady, organized a bowling fundraiser, is a mentor for her sons robotics team and elementary school including as a member of the PTO.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a permanent resident of a Downriver, Michigan community, students must have earned a minimum of 12 college credits and be enrolled as a full-time student.
