The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Michael E. Newman Endowed Memorial Scholarship to Emma Cousino. The $950 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Cousino, of Newport, is a 2021 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is pursuing a degree in respiratory therapy at MCCC. Emma is the daughter of Anthony and Samantha Cousino.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a member of the Monroe County Community Credit Union, have and maintain a 2.8 grade point average or higher during the scholarship year, and maintain at least part-time enrollment, defined as six contact hours or more per semester. Financial need is also considered.
