The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Elizabeth and Samuel Campbell Memorial Scholarships to Katelyn Armstrong, Melissa Lang, Beonka Pope, Mary Valentine. Each $1,550 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Armstrong, of Petersburg, is a 2022 graduate of Bedford High School. She is studying business management at MCCC. While attending BHS, she was involved in National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Students in Action, Student Prevention Leadership Team, and Student Council. Katelyn is the daughter of Kevin and Aundrea Armstrong.
Lang, of Flat Rock, is a 2009 graduate of Oscar A. Carlson High School, Gibraltar, MI. She is studying agriculture operations at MCCC. Melissa is the wife of Jacob Lang and the daughter of Mary Geno.
Pope, of Woodhaven, is a 2010 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Taylor, MI. She is studying fine arts and business administration at MCCC. Beonka is the daughter of Deborah Dunbar and Zvonko Kostadinovski.
Valentine, of Dundee, is a 1994 graduate of Romulus High School, Romulus, MI. She is studying respiratory therapy at MCCC. She is involved in 4-H as a club leader, superintendent for rabbits, and a superintendent for rabbit breed identification. Mary is the daughter of Miriam Fossett and the late Joseph Duffy, and the mother to Felicity Duffy, Michael Valentine Jr., and Isabelle Valentine.
To be eligible for this scholarship the student must demonstrate academic excellence and have financial need.
