MCCC AWARDS PERFORMING MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

Monroe County Community College has awarded performing music scholarships (band and choir) to Ean Borbely, Giselle Cabrera, Joshua Dart, Jennifer Dobson, Allison Howard, Hannah Masserant, Zachary Robinson Alexander Schmitt, Paige Smith and Steven Todd.

The scholarships cover tuition and fees for the 2022-2023 academic year. Scholarship recipients participate in either the MCCC College/Community Symphony Band or Agora Chorale. Each scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student has maintained a high standard of conduct and work. This year’s recipients are:

Erin Borbely photoBorbely, of Dundee, is a 2022 graduate of Dundee High School. He is studying computer science at MCCC. While attending DHS, Ean was involved in National Honor Society, Boy Scouts of American, concert, jazz and marching band. Ean is the son of Melissa and Steve Borbely.

 

  
Cabrera
, of Monroe, is a 2022 graduate of Monroe High School. She is studying psychology at MCCC. While attending MHS, Giselle was involved in the Monroe High School marching band and choir. Giselle is the daughter of Yuliana Trinidad-Ramirez and Daniel Cabrera-Pioquinto.

Jennifer Dobson photoDobson, of Bedford, is a 2022 graduate of Bedford High School. She is studying nursing at MCCC. While attending BHS, Jennifer was president of varsity choir, leader in Bedford Theatre Department, and a varsity swimmer. Jennifer is the daughter of Charles and Lisa Dobson.

 

  

joshua dart photoDart, of Dundee, is a 2022 graduate of Dundee High School. He is studying mechanical design at MCCC. While at DHS, Joshua was a member of National Honor Society, and volunteered in the community. Joshua is the son of David and Lisa Dart.

 

 

allison howard photoHoward, of Petersburg, is a 2022 graduate of Summerfield High School. She is studying studying early childhood education at MCCC. Allison is the daughter of Shane and Michelle Howard.

 


   
  

Masserant, of Ida, is a 2022 graduate of Ida High School. She is studying secondary education at MCCC. While attending IHS, Hannah was involved in band, choir and drama. Hannah is the daughter of Duane Masserant.

robinson photoRobinson, of Bedford, is a 2022 graduate of Bedford High School. He is attending MCCC studying fine arts. While attending BHS, Zachary was involved in the Bedford Kicking Mules marching band, Bedford theater, and International Thespian Society. Zachary is the son of David and Lori Robinson.

 

  

alexander schmitt photoSchmitt, of Monroe, is a 2022 graduate of Monroe High School. He is attending MCCC to study general education, psychology, and history of jazz. While attending MHS, Alexander was involved in the Monroe County Fine Arts Festival. Alexander is the son of Chad and Kristin Schmitt.

 

 

paige smith photoSmith, of Carleton, is a 2014 graduate of Airport High School. She is is studying natural sciences whilel attending MCCC. Paige is a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, MCCC’s Agora Chorale, and a Writing Fellow for MCCC’s Writing Center. She volunteers for the Adopt-A-Road Clean-Up and is an attendant of the East Central Writing Center Association 2022 Conference. Paige is the daughter of Andrew and Kim Smith.

 

 

Todd photoTodd, of Ida, is a 2022 graduate of Ida High School. He is studying automotive service technology at MCCC. He is the son of David and Chris Todd.
