INFO SESSION 3/15 FOR 2023 STUDY ABROAD TRIP TO ENGLAND AND WESTERN EUROPE

study abroadMonroe County Community College will host an informational session via Zoom on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 6 p.m. about the 2023 Study Abroad experience to London & Paris. MCCC is excited to offer students and community members the opportunity to learn about the culture, history, and practice of health care in the United Kingdom and Western Europe. The trip is being planned for May 2023.During the presentation participants will hear more about the itinerary for the trip along with details about transportation and accommodations while traveling. To participate in the informational session, log in to Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/93539779079.

For participants who are interested in health care topics, this study abroad experience will enhance and strengthen their professional growth and development and promote lifelong learning, leadership, and advocacy to help strengthen the health care of the community and the public as a whole. Participants will trace the footsteps of Florence Nightingale, mother of modern nursing, through Victorian London and learn how a fine balance of compassion and innovation fueled the evolution of Britain’s healthcare system. Curated experiences including guided learning, cultural engagement, and independent exploration experiences to drive global competency development are emphasized throughout the trip, including a visit to the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Nursing Library & Heritage Center, chronicling 200 years of nursing in London with its multimedia collection of first-hand stories. Attendees will gain insight from local registered nurses and health professionals about their specialized practices and training, while enjoying the cultural highlights of London, England and Paris, France.
