The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship to Kaycee Long and Olivia Scully. Each $1,650 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Long of Monroe is a 2013 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association. Long was a member of the Red Cross Club at the University of Michigan. Kaycee is the daughter of Colette and Austin Long.
Scully of Carleton is a homeschool 2018 graduate of CrossPointe Academy, Wayne Michigan. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC. Scully is an after-school program director volunteer at her church. Olivia is the wife to Nikolaus Widener and daughter of Cinda Scully.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second-year student in the Registered Nurse Program, a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Students must maintain a three-quarter-time enrollment which is defined as nine (9) credit hours.
