THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE SONYA KAY BRETT MEMORIAL ENDOWED NURSING SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship to Kaycee Long and Olivia Scully. Each $1,650 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Long photoLong of Monroe is a 2013 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association.  Long was a member of the Red Cross Club at the University of Michigan.  Kaycee is the daughter of Colette and Austin Long.

 


Scully of Carleton is a homeschool 2018 graduate of CrossPointe Academy, Wayne Michigan.  She is pursuing a nursing degree at MCCC.  Scully is an after-school program director volunteer at her church.  Olivia is the wife to Nikolaus Widener and daughter of Cinda Scully.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second-year student in the Registered Nurse Program, a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Students must maintain a three-quarter-time enrollment which is defined as nine (9) credit hours.
