The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Ruthie Merritt Memorial Scholarship to Sarah Pierce. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition.
Pierce, of Ottawa Lake, is a 2004 graduate of Whiteford High School. She is pursuing an associate degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS): Office Professional. She is the mother to Cameron Beasley and Caden Stewart and daughter of Tom Pierce and Kellie Ault.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the computer information systems or accounting program, a resident of Monroe County, Mich., completed a minimum of 10 credit hours with a 2.5 grade point average and take a minimum of four credit hours.
