The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Rotary Club of Monroe Scholarship to Emma McLaughlin. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
McLaughlin, of Newport, is a 2020 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is studying nursing at MCCC. McLaughlin has volunteered at the St. Luke Clinic and Oaks of Righteousness soup kitchen. Emma is the daughter of Bridget and Michael McLauglin.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a graduate of a high school located in Monroe County, Michigan, and must be enrolled full-time during their scholarship year. Full-time enrollment is defined as twelve (12) billable contact hours or more per semester (during fall and winter semesters). The character of the scholarship recipient must be compatible with Rotary’s core values of integrity, service, fellowship, leadership and diversity and financial need must be considered in awarding the scholarship.
