The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Roof Family Scholarship to Timothy Hall, Bryce Massingill and Cole Nelson. Each $7,500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Hall, of Erie, is a 2021 Bedford High School graduate. He will be studying welding, CAD or a program involving design at MCCC. Timothy is the son of Anthony and Cherise Hall.
Massingill, of Dundee, is a 2021 graduate of Dundee High School. He will be taking classes at MCCC working towards a music therapy degree. He is involved with his church Milan FieldStone and sang in the Men’s Varsity Choir. Bryce is the son of Trish and the late Troy Massingill.
Nelson, of Newport, is a 2021 graduate of Airport High School. He will be studying welding technology while at MCCC. While attending AHS, he was involved in the welding program fabricating several projects and was a member of the cross country, bowling, track and field and golf teams. Cole is the son of Jeremy and Karen Nelson.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must enroll in an occupational program of study with the intent to complete a program of study at MCCC and immediately enter the workforce, must be a full-time student defined as twelve (12) billable contact hours or more, must be a resident of and graduated from high school in Monroe County, Michigan, and must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher. Preference is given to students graduating from Dundee Community Schools.
