The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Monroe County Exchange Club Scholarship to Zachary Miller. The $1,250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Miller, of Newport, is a 2021 Monroe High School graduate. He is pursuing a degree in the electrical engineering program while attending MCCC. Last year during the pandemic he sewed over 1,500 masks that were donated to local and Downriver area hospitals. While attending MHS, he was on the honor roll, had perfect attendance, was Math Student of the Month, and won the Outstanding Teen Artist Award from Ford Motor Company and the Motor City Comic Convention-Best Teen Costume/Fabrication Award. Zachary is the son of Rob and Rhonda Miller.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, and a graduate of Ida High School, Jefferson High School, Monroe High School or St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
Additional consideration will be given to students with financial need and student participants of the Monroe Exchange Club Junior Exchange Program.
