The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Guire Scholarship to Ruth Brown. The $2,400 scholarship is to be used for tuition.
Brown, of Monroe, is a 2010 graduate of Ida High School. She is studying nursing at MCCC. Ruth is the daughter of David and Ann Brown.
The Guire scholarship was established by the Iva Mennig Trust to assist with tuition payment for students majoring in math or science who have financial need and have shown academic excellence.
