Classes for the Winter 2021 Semester at Monroe County Community College begin Friday, January 8. Officials at the college are reporting strong enrollment numbers for the upcoming semester and offering a reminder there is still time to register.
Students can still register for Winter Semester online and blended classes through Jan. 11. For more information call 734-384- 4104, email admissions@monroeccc.edu or visit www.monroeccc.edu/registration.
“While it is always best for students to be in class on the first day, we know that in the current environment there might still be some students who have not registered yet,” said Rafko. “The vast majority of classes at MCCC this semester are being offered online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so there are still a variety of classes with open seats available. Our Admissions staff will work with students to help them through the process.”
Rafko added that college officials are very pleased by enrollment numbers so far for the Winter 2021 Semester, which are on track to equal or surpass Fall Semester 2020 numbers. Typically, colleges and universities see a drop off in enrollment between the fall and winter semesters. This year, MCCC is bucking that trend.
“We know there are probably some people out there who postponed starting their higher education journey or took last semester off, especially in light of the impact of COVID-19. Now is the time to take that next step, even if it is only with one or two classes,” said Rafko.
