Monroe County Community College will be hosting three virtual Microsoft Excel (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced) course and one Microsoft Teams course targeted for area small businesses in February and March. The workshops are being offered at significant discount thanks to a $5,000 grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to the Monroe County Business Development Corporation.
The courses will be delivered virtually, via Zoom. Each of the Excel courses feature four sessions to be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 – 10:45 a.m. Normally offered at $99 each; thanks to the generosity of the CEF each course is available for only $29.
Microsoft Excel Basic will be held February 9, 11, 16 and 18. This class is for students who are interested in learning one of the most powerful spreadsheet programs on the market. Topics to be covered include: building and editing worksheets; formatting a worksheet; and working with charts, formulas and functions.
Microsoft Excel Intermediate will be held March 2, 4, 9 and 11. This follow-up to the basic class will introduce some of Excel’s more advanced tools. Students will learn how to manage workbooks and preparing them for the Web; automate worksheet tasks; use lists; analyze list data; and enhance charts and worksheets.
Microsoft Excel Advanced will be held March 23, 25, 30 and April 1. This is an accelerated, advanced class for individuals who have previously enrolled in Excel Intermediate or who have extensive experience working with Excel. Participants are encouraged to bring in real-life problems for review in the lab.
The How to Use TEAMS, More than Just Meetings course will include two sessions held on Tuesday, February 23 and Thursday, February 25 from 9 – 10 a.m. Normally offered at $29, the reduced price thanks to the CFE grants is $9. Microsoft Teams works with Office 365 applications to integrate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook together to improve efficiency in the workplace.
